so i finally made it to Queenstown after four glorious...though somewhat testing....days driving with my parents...
We left Wellington on the 10.35am sailing across cook strait on a relatively calm (thank god) day and had a truly majestic welcome to the South Island...my first time!....i know thats why im doing it.....we spent he next four days driving down the west coast: Nelson the first night, Westport he second, Franz Josef the third and Wanaka the final night making it into Queenstown to pick up my three American imports....tourist opportunities along the way: The Glaciers...yes both Franz and Fox where duly photographed.....walked around and captured the reflected glory of the mountains in Lake Mathieson...stoopid cloud came in too fast for the real money-shot but thats how it goes eh?....Pancake rocks...truly amazing...the blowhole wasnt working as we weren't there at high tide but again so it goes.....and of course the magnificent views of the coastline most of the way....classic bush (it was enuf trees!).....with a somewhat lower RKI overall than expected but still a good showing...so thanks ma and pa, a memorable trip no doubtand MUCH appreciated.....
we went riding for the first time this season a Coronet Peak...which suprisingly has pretty decent snow...though it is much smaller than we are used to for sure...when the season gets going and there is more coverage it will be pretty fun....all in all a much needed relaxation time for all....
other than that i am shifting to a shoebox tomorrow for an undetermined period....four bunks in one little room where we will continue our Qtwn experience and fingers-crossed that employment comes our way...and we don't kill each other in the mean-time....stay strong eh?
