its snowing its snowing its snowing its SNOWING

hell freaking yes.....20cm of new snow and guess who was there for it all...yup that'd be me....got ourselves up the hill yesterday morning at about 10am to be greeted by flakes of snow drifting ground-wards.... over the next hour or so the sky started puking snow that didn't stop all day.....YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!
had an amazing first pow day of the season...highlights were getting stuck on a chair for about 15 minutes when it broke getting off to be informed that not only where the chair lifts broken but we were stuck there...the road was closed to downhill traffic....it was cleared later in the day but only to traffic with chains...therefore as i was sans chains (caught early in the season unprepared with a big dumping of snow..who'd've thunk it) we were stranded and had to catch the shuttle back to town...which took an extraordinarily long time as they had to clear the road of stuck cars and the buses that were on their way up to get us kept sliding in the ditch...
what makes it even better is that this morning i managed to hire chains (somewhat ironically chains for sale require a car to get to) and got on the shuttle back up only to make it to the bottom of the hill to be turned back as its STILL snowing and the mountain was shut....its fricken carnage out there though...cars abandoned all over the side of the road and a couple of vans rolled down the ditch...i only hope i can make it up this weekend as i start work next week and its my last opportunity till next sunday....
but hey ITS SNOWING....there is now a good 50cm base on both mountains so the season should end up being a good one...gotta love it...its about time!
