Happy Holidays....

the first christmas back in new zealand....christmas in summer again...with the family....
funny but i thought it would feel more like christmas than it did!...
dont ask me what was missing.... i think it might have been the magic of childhood wonder....
the past two christmas' have been less than festive....working, foreign country, foreign traditions and most of all the weather...unfortunately neither where particularly white....
somehow christmas has become just another day... it no longer has that anticipation factor...however this is not to say that it was not an enjoyable holiday...stuffed till i felt like throwing up and drunk in the middle of the day...ahhhh christmas!

it seems that the world has decided that my place for the next undefined period is in wellington...
my struggle with the job market has *finally* come to end...I managed to receive two job offers...and count myself very lucky to have the luxury to be able to choose...dont get me wrong there was angst and juggling between the two but in the end to quote my father it seemed that the only thing to do was to "follow the magic"...
I have therefore accepted a position at the Royal Society as a Communications Assistant (fancy huh?)...starting in the New Year...
a position i wanted the minute i read the job advertisement...it encompasses not only my penchant for sciences but also maintains a contact with people....and conveniently is neither government nor within an oversized organisation...
now if i only knew what i'd got myself in for.....a proper job...who'd a thunk it?
