this was a VERY long day for me...not only did i have to deal with all the aforementioned security bullshit but i had (of course) been out the night before, at a joint birthday celebration, which resulted in us not making it home until about 4am...(i think im incapableof flying/travelling
not hungover) and then had to get up to leave the house by 8....
furthermore once i got to Ohare and the hangover started lifting i began to realize that i had the flu....yup so no sleep/feeling crap, i grab the first cold medication i come across and neck a few...unfortunately as i'm swallowing i noticed that i had neglected to select non-drowsy...the next 3hours were spent in a state of hallucination as i tried desperately not to fall asleep and miss my connection....
sort of wished i had as the landing made me feel as if my brain was being squeezed out of a small hole between my eyes....on a good note though, this time my baggage was not left behind, which was nice...
I also think that i was lucky to have been allowed back in the country as in my somewhat delirious state i was unable to answer the immigration officers simple question "where have you come from?"....i seriously could not remember!...
