Genbaku Dome, Hiroshima

It is impossible to think of Hiroshima and not also think of the atomic bomb....Genbaku Dome has been left standing as a reminder of the effects of the bomb, it is almost exactly underneath the epicentre of the explosion, there is also a stone statue across the road that bears the shadow of the radiation blast, it gives you pause to consider....the memorial museum also gives a fairly soul destroying description of events, not a very happy tourist experience....
