A big part of why i had planned this trip in the first place was so that i could catch the train back over the Rockies to Jasper...
Unfortunately the train leaves Vancouver at 5:30pm and it is a 16 hour trip through the night...however given it is still spring it wasnt dark for all that long and coach class isn't all that comfortable so i didnt really miss too much i dont think...
the scenery was pretty stunning and given the trip was pretty freaking slow, it took us more like 18-19hrs, i got a good look and some alright snaps...
I arrived i Jasper to find that despite this being the tourist town of all tourist towns, where people generally go hiking, rafting and other outdoorsy type things there is actually very limited luggage storage facilities...
The town is pretty picturesque situated in between two mountain ranges.... however i was still feeling pretty crap and had pretty much no sleep so instead of taking advantage of the beautiful outdoor trails etc i decided instead to just pass out in the sun in a park outside the information centre for a few hours in amongst the swathe of tourists...
the remainder of the day i spent window shopping (all funds by this time severely depleted and anyway the prices were rediculously expensive...and i caught a play put on outdoors about the dangers of forest fire in national parks...an audience participation, extravaganza...then posted up in a bar to wait for Robin and Ashley to make it into town...luckily they spotted me as my crappy cellular service wasnt working....i owe them eternally for driving 4 hours and then turning around to drive back...
