when caught without your trusty pocket-knife corkscrew what else is a girl to do? as you can see I'd had a go at it with a knife before i got smart...but at least i got there eventually....if you cant work it out i ended up with a philips-head screw and a vice-grip!....corkscrew-a-la-toolbox...Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving
Sunday was thanksgiving....in canada....and in the great canadian tradition it was another excuse to be paid to not turn up to work on monday...
it is however a most excellent warm up for christmas festivities...for my first ever thanksgiving i was treated to not just one celebratory meal but 3!...
yes there was the tour around both sides of the family on saturday, including HOMEMADE pumpkin pie!....and then on sunday our own turkey dinner......well it was actually a dinner out of leftovers from the first two but no less amazing.....which we took with us out to the 'river rat shack' a rather palacious cabin...with large central fireplace, rooms with bunk beds, kitchen and big fancy bbqs...it is even equipped with a generator for lighting....however despite the chilly weather most of our time was spent outside around an open firepit...and why wouldnt you when this is right outside the front door....
I have had the best day!
its funny how you can be bent over most of the day but its the little things that really make you smile......two things make me happy today...
1: i managed to book an interview for my american visa.....
after two weeks trying i thought it would never be possible.....
2: my visa acceptance paperwork came through the same day....
Fate smiled on me to make my life happier today....
and all i have to say is "FUCK YEAH bring on winter 07!"...
